On The Bookshelf

“The greatest gift is a passion for reading.” ~Elizabeth Hardwick

I am what one friend calls an “extreme reader”.  I like to read.  A lot.  I suppose that’s why half of my undergraduate degree was in English (and the other half in creative writing). The year I turned thirty I somehow managed to read 100 books from January 1st to December 31st… and that was with an international move and learning to homeschool my daughter for first grade thrown in.  I didn’t read quite as many in 2011 – only 30 – but this year should be different.

One of the aspects I love most about reading is sharing those books with others.  My reviews are not anything special; they’re my own biased opinion of what I’ve read, and you may not agree with me at all.  That’s okay; I don’t expect you to.  But if you’re looking for something new to read, maybe one of my recommendations (or cautions to stay away) will help you find something new to add to your own bookshelf.

My 2012 Reading List:

  • Fast Food Nation (in the queue)
  • Run Like A Mother (in the queue)
  • Kill Me If You Can (currently reading)
