If I’m going to keep my favorite recipes online I might as well share them, right?

I’m a semi-crunchy home cook. Basically what this means to me is I try to prepare most of my family’s meals from scratch, and cook with organic, natural, and whole foods while minimizing the amount of processed foods and ingredients that we keep in the house.
Does it work well all the time? Nope. Am I always successful at keeping us on track and eating healthy 100% of the time? Certainly not. But I’m trying, and that, really, is all I can do.

A few notes about the recipes on my blog:
- I am not a recipe developer. Although I’ve been cooking meals for my husband and family for almost ten years now, I’m still pretty heavily reliant upon recipes, unless it’s a meal I’ve made twenty times over and can remember. I get much of my inspiration from food blogs and Pinterest; when I publish a post on this site it’s because this is a recipe I’ve made at home and want to remember to make again someday. Consider this to be my virtual recipe book.
- I will always give credit for recipes that I post, with a direct link back to the site from which I originally found it. Because I typically alter recipes according to my own tastes and food values, the recipes on this site are largely adaptations of the originals. I normally try to remember to make notes of what changes I’ve made, but if you’re curious you should click through to see it for yourself.
- I’m not a food photographer. Actually, I’m not much of a photographer at all, though I’m learning. For the most part I cook these recipes in the evenings when I’m getting ready to serve it to my family, and I don’t have the time or inclination to pull out my DSLR and mess with the settings while the food gets cold and The Critters get whiny. By and large, the photographs on the recipes here are mine, but when I use someone else’s photograph I link it back to the source. I have no intention of stealing someone else’s hard work.
- So please keep that in mind if you have a blog of your own. Please feel free to share any recipe (or book review, or whatever) that you find here, but remember to be respectful of me and those from whom I’ve gotten my recipes from, too. If you re-post a recipe in its entirety please leave a link back to this blog, but be sure to remove any of my commentary. Same with any picture that you may choose to use.
